For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Jeep Wagoneer are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The VinFast VF 9 doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Wagoneer are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The VF 9 doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

In a Vehicle-to-Vehicle Frontal Crash Prevention 2.0 test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Jeep Wagoneer achieved a “Acceptable” rating - the second highest possible - for its performance in forward collision warning and automatic braking systems, demonstrating its excellent capabilities in preventing collisions. The VinFast VF 9 has not been tested.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the Wagoneer’s optional Hill Descent Control allows you to creep down safely. The VF 9 doesn’t offer Hill Descent Control.

A passive infrared night vision system optional on the Wagoneer Grand helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The VF 9 doesn’t offer a night vision system.

Both the Wagoneer and the VF 9 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, available all wheel drive, around view monitors and driver alert monitors.

The Wagoneer’s corrosion warranty is unlimited miles longer than the VF 9’s (unlimited vs. 125000 miles).

Jeep pays for scheduled maintenance on the Wagoneer for 5 years and unlimited miles. Jeep will pay for oil changes, tire rotations, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. VinFast doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the VF 9.

There are over 68 times as many Jeep dealers as there are VinFast dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Wagoneer’s warranty.

The Wagoneer’s standard 3.0 turbo 6-cylinder produces 18 more horsepower (420 vs. 402) and 11 lbs.-ft. more torque (468 vs. 457) than the VF 9’s electric motors. The Grand Wagoneer’s standard 3.0 turbo 6-cylinder produces 138 more horsepower (540 vs. 402) and 64 lbs.-ft. more torque (521 vs. 457) than the VF 9’s electric motors.

The Jeep Wagoneer’s wheels have 6 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The VinFast VF 9 only has 5 wheel lugs per wheel.

The Wagoneer has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The VF 9 doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

The Wagoneer has a standard full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the VF 9; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

The Wagoneer offers an optional driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The VF 9’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

The Wagoneer offers an optional automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Wagoneer’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The VF 9 doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For greater off-road capability the Wagoneer has a greater minimum ground clearance than the VF 9 (8.3 vs. 7.4 inches), allowing the Wagoneer to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Wagoneer Air Suspension’s minimum ground clearance is 2.6 inches higher than on the VF 9 (10 vs. 7.4 inches).

The Jeep Wagoneer may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 100 to 600 pounds less than the VinFast VF 9.

The front grille of the Wagoneer uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The VF 9 doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The Wagoneer uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The VF 9 doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Wagoneer’s middle and third row seats recline. The VF 9’s third row seats don’t recline.

The Wagoneer’s minimum standard towing capacity is much higher than the VF 9’s (6120 vs. 3968 pounds). Maximum trailer towing in the VinFast VF 9 is only 3968 pounds. The Wagoneer offers up to a 10,000 lbs. towing capacity.

Standard Trailer Sway Control on the Wagoneer uses the Electronic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The VF 9 doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

The Wagoneer has a much higher standard payload capacity than the VF 9 (1510 vs. 1212 lbs.).

The Wagoneer has a much higher maximum payload capacity than the VF 9 (1550 vs. 1212 lbs.).

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the VF 9 Plus, the Wagoneer Grand offers an optional passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position, foot pedal distance, outside mirror angle and radio stations and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Wagoneer has a standard rear fixed intermittent wiper with a full on position. The rear wiper standard on the VF 9 only has an intermittent setting, so in a hard rain visibility isn’t as good.

The Jeep Wagoneer has a standard Homelink wireless remote control system for garage door operation and device management, conveniently located on the driver’s visor. Homelink® eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries. VinFast charges extra for Homelink® on the VF 9.

The Wagoneer is equipped with both FM and AM stereo radios, offering access to more content and better coverage than the VF 9, which solely provides FM radio. With AM radio, you can enjoy a wider variety of stations featuring news, talk shows, sports commentary, native language programing, automated traffic guidance, and emergency broadcasts. AM waves travel further and penetrate buildings and obstacles more effectively than FM signals, especially at night. Having both FM and AM stereo radios the Wagoneer offers a more comprehensive listening experience compared to only FM in the VF 9.

HD Radio boasts several benefits over conventional radio: superior sound quality with clearer and consistent FM broadcasts, CD-quality audio, and Multicast Channels offering up to four streams from a single station, adding programming choices. Cars like the Wagoneer equipped with HD Radio provide an improved in-car entertainment experience. The VF 9, devoid of this technology, foregoes these benefits. Selecting the Jeep Wagoneer empowers drivers to enjoy a more immersive and enjoyable listening experience while on the go.

The Wagoneer has a 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The VF 9 doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the Wagoneer first among large suvs in owner reported satisfaction. This includes how well the vehicle performs and satisfies its owner’s expectations. The VF 9 isn’t in the top three.
